This is a good way of recording videos, CinemaDNG are a RAW format, this will allow you to fine tune (adjust) the picture at post-production.

How to manage your CinemaDng Workflow

Well, you have recorded several clips in your blackmagic camera or with the odissey 7q recorder and you want to make it usable.
You need to convert that cinema-dng files to some clip compatible with any NLE editor, providing your visual look style applied.
Using Cinec, you will open the files in the RAW converter (by selecting those appropiates or by choosing a folder), then you can make any image RAW adjustments in a .dng among other supported still pictures images format, while see a preview in one or several windows so you can compare the values you changed.

There are settings like White balance, channel multipliers (RGB), interpolation, darkness and brightness as well as gamma curve, colorspace and a bit more. Once make the proper color grading tunes, then click on encode & ok, you will return to the main app. window, now choose the proper supported preset output, like e.g. prores 422HQ and press encode.

In a few moments you will have your cinema dng files converted in a really HQ clip, already graded, than you can use in any NLE compatible editor like Avid, Adobe Premiere, etc ..

Other feature is the monitor preview windows. With up to 4 windows users can made adjustments on different areas (windows) while comparing with the others. Simply click on any PreviewN and changes will be reflected on that Nwindow.

This major release has put focus on Cinema DNG files and other RAW still formats. Cinema DNG files are RAW unprocessed files that come directly from the camera or from a recorder that get that sensor output and print to a raw file.

This RAW files can be tuned in Cinec like if you were in the front of the camera. 

1) Open Cinec, choose FILE / Add Images RAW Sequence


This will open the RAW editor

2) Load your CinemaDNG files by any of the 4 different methods of File menu (the 2 last are for automation)



3) By clicking in any row (each row in the grid contains each of your cinemadng files), you can make some picture adjustments,
take a look (click to enlarge)


4) Then press Convert, then wait for the files to be converted to compatible format. Then press OK

5)Then you return back to the main screen, now select the framerate and your desired output preset
You can set how many CPU / Cores you want Cinec use for your encodings.

That's all, you'll get your CinemaDng videos converted to prores ready for editing.
