Cinemartin is glad to introduce VENUS, the slim / thin high brightness monitor, IPS high quality grade A display, with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 (full hd, true 1080), and 700 (AVG) to 1000 (MAX) NIT (cd/m2) of brightness, 10-Bit video signal processed with up to 1.07 Billions of colors in a superb aluminum chassis, provide this monitor, a must have for almost any filmmaker. State of the art.
Monitoring on the outside and focus is not longer an issue
With more contrast and great color fidelity than the average, VENUS is a choice for almost any place, whether you are on the beach, the mountain, in a interview, shooting live music or sports, shorts, promos, etc. any situation.
To be able to get precise focus, you need a 7 inch display (5" are ver small for) and a true 1080 resolution. Some other brands sell their monitors as 1080 but are not true 1080, are 720 scaled to 1080 or 1920x1200 that, even greater, is not a pixel to pixel reproduction. In addition to resolution, luminance is a great factor, as without enough luminance (measured in NITS or cd/m2) a display have no use case unless you're in your home with soft lights.
On exterior / outside usage you need a brighter monitor, problem is that high brightness monitors cost more than 1300€/1500$.

Here and there for longer
It is a truly state of the art design, a device manufactured from a durable Aluminum 6000 series body, at no extra cost {take a look for example on new
Teradek Clip encoder/decoders where they offer the option for Aluminum chassis for +400$, being that chassis more smaller than the one on this monitor}.
VENUS Weight 750gr with 2 battery plate and 2 sony NP-F batteries, so lighter while durable, and confortable to work within. It have the GUI buttons located on top back side, for you to better concentrate in the picture, while if you need to access the menu and tune the contrast, hue, brightness, etc. simply put your hand over, by using your finger without need to backside the monitor, so the best location, for you to concentrate on your shoot.
This Aluminum device is very slim thin, providing the professional look and picture that your customers are looking for, bright, vivid, powerfull, fidelity.
For all your cameras: now & next, a best investment
Cameras change / updates over and over about 2 years, but like the good optics, the good glass, the good monitors, stay there for longer, and people recognize a good monitor by its picture. VENUS is a great investment. With a plethora of brightness that will allow you to use the monitor on the outside, just forget to using covers, sunshades or similars, as you cannot see as well as without it, you and the others around you.
Brightness equals to vivid & contrast colors. HDR at 10 Bits of processing make it more than one step up in your equipment.
This will be your monitor of choice for all serious recordings, takes, photographs, shootings, etc. even for presenting / showing your videos or photos to your customers, contacts, etc. You can connect your RED camera (Red Raven, Red Scarlet-W, Weapon, Epic) your DSLR (EOS 5D, GH4, A7S) or even your mini's (Sony a6300, Blackmagic pocket camera etc.) to this stunning slim monitor.
HDR: no one stop down - Just full of colors
The High Dynamic Range in truth becomes from a sensor, which is the one capable to produce more or less HDR to be able to show you more or less tonalities of colors range. But from some time ago, the word HDR is implemented on high class monitors, that bring at least 540 NIT for Class 1 or 1000 NIT or more for Class 2, altough there's no one true regulation as of now, a HDR monitor means a monitor capable of display bright colors with a better contrast, not only blacks more black, but in overall a better picture. Not only OLED displays can be HDR, IPS high quality or industrial class can also deliver, with a proper processing board, HDR. VENUS process the signal at 10-Bit to give the monitor up to 1.07 Billions of colors using a technica called FRC (8+2 BIT) that produces an effect to see cleaner, natural and a greater range of colors.
This monitor work with RED cameras as well as Sony, Canon, Panasonic, etc. In order to provide maximum brightness among other things It is not touchscreen. Touchscreen requires an extra layer than depending on its kind (capacitive, resistive, etc.) gets down approx 2 stops of brightness / HDR, so we decided to not implement touch features and focua on brightness and dynamic range.
VENUS monitors are designed to be slim / thin, durable and affordable. In order to keep that compromise, this monitor does not include extra tools such as zebra, vectorscope, etc .. as this tools can be displayed on the monitor from using your own camera assist tools, as almost any camera of these days have already built-in that extra features. For our first monitor we decided to keep it slim and affordable while providing the best quality out there, for an aggresive price tag, less than half than other similar products.
